About me
I'm Don Ludwig, born in Melbourne, Australia in 1977. When I was nine months old my parents decided to move to Berlin, the city in which I now live, love and work in. At the moment I live together with my beloved girlfriend and new-born son in Berlin-Friedrichshain.
In 1998/1999 I decided to become a graphic designer after working and travelling in Australia, Great Britain & Spain. Although I completed a two-year course as a digital media designer in 2001, I acquired a tremendous amount of my work experience by reading books, articles, listening to interesting people and working in non-client projects.
After being employed in several software companies and agencies I decided in 2006 to start freelancing as a graphic designer focussing on print, web and corporate design. Besides my work as a graphic designer I'm also a co-founder of the music label Pentagonik, established in 2005. I have been responsible for most of the flyers, cover artworks and the logo, as well as the design of the label's website. Together with a group of netaudio activists I organized the four-day Netaudio Festival Berlin in 2007 and in 2009 featuring more than 250 artists and bands in total.
Apart from being a great fan I have a good and solid knowledge of standards-compliant XHTML & CSS, JQuery, Wordpress, Logo development, nice and clean typography, colorful designs, high-quality prints and unusual printing paper or a cross-plattform grid-based layout in a great looking corporate design. Furthermore I'm always eager to learn more from my clients about their business needs in order to find the best solution for any given problem.
Now in 2010 I’m presenting a selection of my work deciding not to shave my beard until i have completed this portfolio. I'm open to interesting, visionary and open-minded people to work with and share new ideas.
